Kramer Ltd. and its Experienced Parts Department are proud and happy to host the June 2009 Caterpillar Dealers Used Parts Association (CDUPA) annual conference. Taking place in and around Regina June 8th, 9th & 10th, 2009 Kramer will host Caterpillar Experienced Parts dealers from around the globe.
(CDUPA) is committed to providing a forum for the exchange of technical information, education, knowledge and professionalism by promoting new ideas to the benefit of all Caterpillar used parts dealers.
CDUPA members meet annually to strengthen used parts dealers and to improve idea sharing within the Caterpillar used parts dealer organization. Caterpillar dealers can accomplish more through unity, and by encouraging all Cat dealers to participate and work together as an association. Many Caterpillar dealers in the used parts business are members of CDUPA, and the list continues to grow!
Since its inception in May 1995, CDUPA has strived to create a quality standard by improving communications and working toward common goals.
CDUPA members belong to franchised Caterpillar dealers. As a member of CDUPA, your annual fee covers registration and associated activities at the annual meeting. Term of membership is one year (January to December).
We know that, through continuing support from current and new CDUPA members, global Caterpillar dealers will continue to experience strong growth, and continue to be leaders in the used parts industry.

Easter weekend in Saskatchewan means more than hardboiled eggs and chocolate bunnies. The 2008 Draggins Rod & Custom Car Show at Prairieland Park in Saskatoon is a staple for those who love all things hot roddish and modified (in relation to automobiles).
Attending this year’s show was a first for Kramer. While we may have been a rookie at the event, our veteran-esque presence proved otherwise.
Caterpillar Inc.’s sponsorship with David Powers Motorsports (DPM) and the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) – U.S. – afforded Kramer the opportunity to bring a Top Fuel Dragster to the Draggins show. Needless to say, the Kramer booth was filled to capacity on both days of the event as car enthusiasts, curious onlookers and other show participants marveled at the rare sight of this magnificent machine. How rare, you ask? Check this out: During a ¼ mile run the Top Fuel Dragster…
• Launches from the starting line with 3 Gs of force
• Uses 13 gallons of Nitro methane fuel
• Creates 7,000 horsepower
• Reaches 330 mph at the finish line
• Covers the racing distance in 4.5 seconds
• Slows down with parachutes applying 4 Gs in reverse
For those of you who like to be hooked up with more information, we won’t short track you. Read on.
• The Top Fuel Dragster can go from 0 – 100 mph in less than 1 second
• During a 90-second warm-up before a (heat) race, the engine will burn 7 gallons of Nitro methane fuel
• The engine is a 500 cubic-inch hemi-style block of solid aluminum with no water jacket or coolant ports (as there is no cooling system)
• The fuel system is fed by two 100 GPM (gallons per minute) pumps which draw through a 2 ½ inch suction line from the tank on the nose of the car. This tank also has its own mini scoop that forces air into the fuel tank to keep it pressurized in order to avoid starving the fuel system and to avoid collapsing the fuel tank (as during a race, the Top Fuel Dragster burns approximately 2 gallons of fuel per second)
• The Top Fuel Dragster’s dual ignition system has 2 spark plugs (with staggered ignition timing) for each cylinder, helping to extend the duration of the power stroke and ensuring maximum fuel burning
The Top Fuel Dragster was not the only highlight at the Kramer booth. Kramer’s own Cory Danchak and Dylan Uhl, apprentice dealer technicians at Kramer’s Saskatoon and Regina branches respectively, participated in the Battle of Technicians. Finishing in a highly respectable sixth place, Kramer is extremely proud of our family members’ performance (we were even prouder upon learning that Danchak and Uhl had not met until the day of the Battle practice runs on Good Friday). The enthusiasm shown by Danchak and Uhl embodied the spirit of the competition.
Kramer’s ‘Ether Breathers’ – as they were known – and the remainder of the Kramer team were proud to participate in the Draggins Rod & Custom Car Show event. Kramer and Draggins. Two unforgettable Saskatchewan classics.
