Kramer to Host 2009 Conference

As a member of the Caterpillar Dealers Used Parts Association (CDUPA), Kramer Ltd. and its Experienced Parts Department are proud to be hosting the 2009 annual conference in Regina June 8 - 10.

CDUPA members meet annually to strengthen used parts dealers and to improve idea sharing within the Caterpillar used parts dealer organization. Caterpillar dealers can accomplish more through unity. By encouraging all Cat dealers to participate and work together as an association, the list of CDUPA members continues to grow! Kramer’s own Darren Mackie, Manager of Experienced Parts, is the Chairman of the Caterpillar Dealers’ Used Parts Association (CDUPA) Membership Committee.

Since its inception in May 1995, CDUPA has strived to create a quality standard by improving communications and working toward common goals. During the upcoming annual meeting on June 8, 9 and 10 in Regina, CDUPA members will ‘Experience the Possibilities’ and will continue to support and promote Caterpillar experienced parts dealer relationships. As a member of CDUPA, Kramer is committed to providing a forum for the exchange of technical information, education and knowledge by promoting new ideas to the benefit of all Caterpillar used parts dealers. Through continuing support from current and new CDUPA members, global Caterpillar dealers will continue to experience strong growth, and continue to be leaders in the experienced parts industry.

Meetings and events will take place throughout Regina locales including the Delta Hotel, the Kramer IMAX Theatre, the RCMP Heritage Centre, the Kramer Experienced Parts Department and beautiful Kramer Park. A trip to Deer Valley Golf & Estates is also planned.



Emergency Response Skills Competition

Members of the Sherritt Coal Boundary Dam-Bienfait Mine will be taking part in the 41st Annual Emergency Response/Mine Rescue Skills Competition on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at EVRAZ Place (Regina, SK) from 6:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Kramer Ltd is proud to support the Saskatchewan Mining Association during the May 30 Emergency Response/Mine Rescue Skills Competition. Equipment on hand will include:
  • One (1) Caterpillar TL943 Telehandler
  • One (1) Caterpillar 256C Skid Steer Loader
  • One (1) Caterpillar 299C Multi Terrain Loader
  • Two (2) 301.6C Mini Excavators

Beauty And The Beast

Kramer Regina’s service department served as a temporary gallery for Saskatchewan Fine Craft on Thursday, May 14. Comfortably resting near – as well as on! – a rugged and powerful Caterpillar D8T track-type tractor, and hanging from a steel beam high overhead, and proudly perched on toolboxes and shipping crates throughout service bay 10, eleven pieces of Saskatchewan Fine Craft began their long journey to Cheongju, South Korea by taking part in a media event hosted by Kramer.

The eleven pieces of Fine Craft are part of the prestigious Unity and Diversity exhibition at the Cheongju International Craft Biennale (CICB) in Korea September 23 – November 1. The CICB is the largest craft exposition in the world. In 2007, it attracted over 580,000 visitors from over 50 countries. This year, Canada has been chosen as the guest country.

Kramer Ltd. is financing the transportation of the Saskatchewan art to Korea. Tim Kramer, President of Kramer Ltd., and the Kramer family have supported Saskatchewan art and artists for over 50 years. “The Kramer family and Kramer Ltd. want to ensure that artists are able to continue their creative expression and display their works – wherever, whenever and however they choose.”

After the media event, the Saskatchewan pieces in Unity and Diversity left for Edmonton where they will be packed and prepared to ship to Korea.

Kramer Regina Serves as Temporary Gallery

Kramer (Regina) has been chosen to host a media event to announce Saskatchewan’s participation in the 2009 Cheongju International Craft Biennale in Cheongju, South Korea and Kramer’s support of the Sask Craft Council in this endeavour.

Every two years, Cheongju, South Korea hosts one of the largest craft expositions in the world. This year the event runs from September 23 to November 1 and Canada will be the Guest Country.

The Canadian Craft Federation conducted a national competition to select 200 pieces of the best work by Canadian artists for an unprecedented exhibition called Unity and Diversity. Eleven Saskatchewan artists have had their work selected for this exhibition. These exceptional pieces will be on display at a media event just prior to leaving for Korea and many of the participating artists will be in attendance.

The Canadian Crafts Federation/Fédération canadienne des métiers d’art announced that Canada has been named the official guest country of the 2009 Cheongju International Craft Biennale in Cheongju, South Korea.

Celebrating its 6th anniversary in 2009, the Cheongju International Craft Biennale is the largest and most outstanding fine craft-based biennale in the world. Over 1,000 artists from more than 40 countries participate each year, with over half a million visitors in attendance during the 6-week event.

Canada’s participation is being organized by provincial craft organizations such as the Saskatchewan Craft Council through the Canadian Crafts Federation.

The cornerstone of Canada’s participation will be a 200-piece national juried exhibition called Unity and Diversity. Following its display in South Korea from September 23 to November 1, 2009, a portion of the national exhibition will be at the Vancouver Museum (January - April 2010) as part of a Canada/Korea cultural exchange. Of the 200 pieces juried into the national exhibition, a smaller selection will be exhibited throughout the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games.

As the sole Saskatchewan sponsor of the Saskatchewan Craft Council’s participation in the event, Kramer’s support will assist with the cost of selecting, assembling, transporting and displaying this exhibition.

Kramer (Regina) has been chosen to host a media event to announce Saskatchewan’s participation in the 2009 Cheongju International Craft Biennale in Cheongju, South Korea and Kramer’s support of the Sask Craft Council.

The media event will take place at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 14, 2009. Several Saskatchewan artists and their artwork will be on hand as will members of the local media and politico set.



Caterpillar® Announces Remanufacturing Supply Agreement With Eaton

Agreement will expand Caterpillar’s remanufacturing product portfolio to include Eaton® heavy-duty transmissions.

Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE: CAT) announced that it recently reached an agreement with Eaton Corporation to have Eaton’s heavy duty transmission remanufacturing business done by Caterpillar’s Remanufacturing Division. The agreement calls for Caterpillar to remanufacture Eaton® heavy duty transmissions at its Summerville, South Carolina facility beginning in the third quarter 2009. The agreement brings together the powerful Fuller® Reman brand and the strong reputation of Caterpillar's Remanufacturing Division.

“Our relationship with Caterpillar’s Remanufacturing Division allows us to take advantage of their global scale and footprint, world-class technology and significant focus on product availability and reliability," commented David Renz, Vice President – Sales & Marketing and Aftermarket, Eaton’s Truck Group. "This new relationship will allow us to respond to our customers’ and business partners’ needs by continuing to provide them with the high-quality Eaton remanufactured components they have come to expect.”
